According to the MoU, the children of police martyrs will get free education form all savvy schools and colleges of the Aspire Group in all districts of Punjab whereas the in-service and retired police officials will be given benefit of half fee for their children. In addition, the children will also be given scholarships, uniforms and books.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Umar acknowledged the services and sacrifices of police officials and paid homage to them. He said the police officials save lives of the people by putting their lives in danger; therefore the nation should recognize their sacrifices.
He assured the IGP that they will also take measures to ensure provision of respectable professions in institutions being run under the administration of Aspire Group. "I see the cooperation and help offered by the Aspire Group for the education of police employees with great respect," remarked the IGP.
The IG also directed the DIG Welfare to launch similar projects following the parameters of welfare. He said that provision of better health and education facility to the children of police employees will result in economic and mental satisfaction to force.
"Punjab police are utilizing all available resources and MoUs are being signed with different educational institutions so that children of police officials may become a helpful citizen of society after getting standard education," he expressed.
IG Arif further said that relief in shape of provision of quality education will lower down the stress level of the force and they will be able to put their all focus and energy on their professional duties.
"Due to shortage of resources and long duty hours, the police officials cannot get their children educated from best educational institutions," he commented. Provision of quality education to the children is my top priority and steps are being taken in all districts in this regard," concluded the IGP.
