Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday planted a sapling in Changa Manga under monsoon plantation drive. Some 500 students also planted different trees in the forest park.
While addressing the ceremony, he said that Sehat Insaf Card programme will give necessary health cover to 30 percent population in the Punjab as 35 million people will get free healthcare facilities in private hospitals. "Over a million deserving people of 272,000 families will get free treatment through this programme in the district of Kasur alone. "This is a beneficial programme, which has enabled the needy to access medical facilities free of cost. Limit of Sehat Insaf Card can be increased if needed," he added.
He said that Rs 19.5 billion are earmarked for 126 development projects for Kasur district, adding that TDCP resort in Changa Manga will be revamped with an amount of Rs 50 million. "New tehsil complex will be constructed in Pattoki. Similarly, new water supply schemes will be started and remodelling of Fateh Muhammad dyke and Lalu Gaddar dyke will be done as well. DHQ hospital Kasur and THQ hospital Pattoki will be upgraded besides the establishment of a new university in Kasur," he added.
According to him, planting trees is a noble cause and citizenry should plant trees to make Pakistan green. The 150 years old Changa Manga forest is a biological heritage, which is also a source of promoting wildlife. Moreover, the Safe City Programme is working smoothly and the anti-encroachment campaign will be continued in the forest park.
Usman Buzdar said that Kashmir is the jugular vein and Pakistan is incomplete without it. He reiterated that changing the constitutional status of occupied Kashmir is illegal step of the Modi government and India has blatantly violated international laws. He regretted that violations of human rights by the Modi government in occupied Kashmir have crossed every limit.
"India should fully realize that whole nation is united on this core issue of Kashmir. We are firmly standing with the Kashmiris and would continue to do so. Diplomatic and moral support of the Kashmiri people will be continued forever," he added.
Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education also spoke on the occasion.
Provincial Minister Sardar Asif Nakai, Advisor Hanif Pitafi, legislators, including Sardar Talib Nakai and Mukhtar Shah, PTI leader Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali, Secretary Forests, Commissioner Lahore Division and others were also present on the occasion.
