This is apropos to a NAB press release issued on 9 August 2019. We are supportive of the efforts of the National Accountability Bureau which plays an integral role towards the honest functioning of our institutions ensuring accountability and transparency.
"With regards to the NAB investigation and the awarding of the LNG contract, the Company has already shared relevant information requested by the Bureau and will continue to reiterate its commitment and offer cooperation to the Bureau and relevant Government agencies for information pertaining to its inquiry as and when asked for.
"Engro Elengy Terminal Limited (EETL) maintains that it has always acted, and continues to act, in a fair and transparent manner in all its business and commercial commitments. The Company vehemently denies alleged accusations of corruption and wrongdoing.

"On August 9, 2019, NAB while explaining statement of PM's advisor on Commerce and Textile Abdul Razak Dawood about a news appearing in media regarding Engro Group and LNG terminal case gas said that NAB respects business community because they are backbone of national economy and play fundamental role in economic growth.
"NAB is a respected institution working for elimination of corruption from the county, which have been acknowledged by national and international institutions. According to a survey conducted by Gillani & Gallop, 58 percent respondents have posed confidence in NAB.
"NAB is currently investigating LNG Terminal case. An agreement was inked with Engro Group for establishment of LNG Terminal for which government of Pakistan provided finances out of public money. NAB wants to know point of view of Engro Group about LNG terminal case as per the requirements of laws concerned. This practice is very much in accordance with the legal principles. For this purpose, not only Engro Group itself should come forward but inform about transparency of LNG Terminal agreement and its legal standing.
"It may be noted that chairman NAB met members of business community a few months back. Following the interaction, he not only set up a special desk at NAB Headquarters Islamabad for solving valid complaints as per law but also asked DGs of all regional offices to establish similar desks for listening complaints of business community. These desks have been established and currently working as per routine."
