'Nawaz getting AC, TV and other facilities in prison'

The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail continues to have the facility of an air conditioner and other necessities like television, table etc, it has been learnt. Responding to the letter of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, the authorities concerned have informed the provincial government that Nawaz Sharif continues to have the facility of an air conditioner and other facilities on the recommendation of the medical board, sources said, adding: 'The former PM has the facility to meet his personal physician and family members on every Thursday.'
Nawaz is imprisoned in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail after an accountability court handed him a seven-year jail term in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference. Thursday has been allotted to the former prime minister as a meeting day with party leaders and family members at the prison. Maryam Nawaz was taken into custody by the NAB team when she was in Kot Lakhpat Jail to see her father.
The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif had demanded an explanation about the facilities provided to Nawaz. The letter was then forwarded to the authorities concerned.
