Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the whole nation is expressing complete solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren and we dedicate this Eid to the Kashmiris who are unable to celebrate it due to the unabated cruelties of the Modi government. During his visit to Sialkot, Sargodha and Bahawalpur after offering Eid Prayers and Sunnah-e-Ibrahimi, he expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir. He said destination of the Kashmiris is drawing nearer despite Indian atrocities and the government of Pakistan is firmly standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the Kashmiris, he added.
He said that Independence Day will be celebrated as Kashmir Solidarity Day and the whole nation will also hoist Pakistani and Kashmiri flags. He said that he will lead the Kashmir rally in Lahore. During his visit to DHQ hospital Sialkot, he inquired after the patients and distributed gifts and flowers among them. He felicitated them on Eid and prayed for their early recovery. He also inquired the patients about the medical facilities being provided to them and gave instructions to the hospital administration regarding the provision of best healthcare facilities and reiterated the commitment of the Punjab government to provide the best healthcare facilities.
A briefing was also given to him about Eid related celebrations and the cleanliness arrangements. The chief minister directed to further improve the cleanliness condition of the city and asked the concerned authorities to personally monitor the cleanliness and ensure proper disposal of animal waste.
Later, the chief minister met with the family members of martyred constable Ansar Javed who lost his life due to the firing of dacoits in Sialkot. Those who called on Usman Buzdar included the widow of the martyred constable, daughter, sons and brother. The chief minister paid tributes to the bravery of Constable Ansar Javed and said that martyrs are always alive. He assured that all-out support will be provided to the family of martyred constable. Advisor to PM Firdous Ashiq Awan, spokesperson CM Dr. Shahbaz Gill and others were also present on the occasion.
Later, the chief minister visited Sargodha and went tothe Yadgar-e-Shuhada in police lines Sargodha. He laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fatiha. He also attended "Bara Khana" in Police Lines, which was hosted in honour of police officials. The chief minister also met with the family members of martyrs in the police lines. He appreciated the determination and enthusiasm of family members of martyrs. The chief minister, while talking to the families of martyrs, said that Punjab government is standing with them and we should remember the families of martyrs who have rendered their lives for maintaining peace in this country. He said that no stone would be left unturned for supporting the families of martyrs.
The chief minister also met with destitute women and children at Darul Aman and Darul Falah in Sargodha. He The distributed eid gifts among them and said that women and children, under the care of these institutions, deserve special attention and taking care of them is our responsibility. In the third phase of his visit, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar went to Bahawalpur where he visited Central Jail and reviewed the facilities being provided to the prisoners. He ate food with the jail staff and prisoners. He also went to the barracks of women prisoners and distributed Eid gifts and sweets among them.
He said that he had also used his powers earlier and now he announces to reduce two months imprisonment of prisoners which will benefit more than 400 prisoners. List of ailing prisoners is being prepared and the best treatment facilities will be provided to such patients. He said that the jail manual would be amended according to the new demands for providing relief to the prisoners. Jail manual would be necessarily amended with regard to release on parole which will benefit more than 5000 prisoners who are awaiting release on parole. Shortage issue of jail staff would be redressed and their allowances will be increased on the pattern of Punjab police.
He said the PTI government has allocated funds for the southern Punjab secretariat. He said that after the political consensus, the metropolis of southern Punjab will be announced as we have completed our homework in this regard. He said that elected representatives were consulted in connection with various development projects in Punjab. Development projects will be carried out in every division under a special development package, he added.
Meetings have been held with assembly members at the divisional level and they are being consulted again. He said that no political party had established new districts and tehsils in their respective tenures; whereas, the PTI government has constituted a committee under the supervision of Chief Secretary Punjab for establishing new districts and tehsils.
