The Karachi Port handled 115,422 tonnes of cargo comprising 90,102 tonnes of import cargo and 25,320 tonnes of export cargo including 6,477 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargos of 90,102 tonnes comprised of 48,234 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,830 tonnes of DAP, 3,388 tonnes of fertilizer and 32,650 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 25,320 tonnes comprised of 25,320 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 6,477 containers comprising of 3,284 containers import and 3,193 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Saturday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 985 of 20's and 1,087 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 62 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 786 of 20's and 344 of 40's loaded containers while 77 of 20's and 821 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Xin Mei Zhou, MOL Gateway, CMA CGM Butterfly and Totonno Bottglieri carrying containers respecteiely sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels viz. Northern Dexterity, Navios Union and MT Quetta carrying containers and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 138,781 tonnes comprising 115,107 tonnes of import cargo and 23,674 tonnes of export cargo including 3,396 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 115,107 tonnes includes 55,968 tonnes of coal; 7,330 tonnes of palm oil; 3,605 tonnes of soyabean; 7,354 tonnes of chemical and 40,850 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 23,674 tonnes includes 23,674 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,396 containers comprising of 2,150 containers import and 1,246 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Saturday. There was one ship namely AS Paola carrying containers sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while two more ships namely Beat Rice and Sage Danube carrying bulk cargo and chemical respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean, chemical, LNG, diesel oil, palm kernel and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten vessels viz. Maersk Jalan, Da Zhe, Spring Melody, IVS Wentworth, IVS Narou, BBG Integrity, Cela Nova, Chemroad Nova, Golar Ice and NCC Dammam carrying containers, general cargo, coal, canola seeds, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three ships viz. Maersk Jalan, Da Zhe and Chemroad Nova carrying containers, general cargo and chemical respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Saturday. There is one ship namely MSC Esthi carrying containers due to arrive on Monday, while two more ships namely APL New York and Maersk Hartford carrying containers are due to arrive on Tuesday.
