The Karachi Port handled 128,118 tonnes of cargo comprising 94,343 tonnes of import cargo and 33,775 tonnes of export cargo including 2,624 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 94,343 tonnes comprised of 18,811 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,311 tonnes of bulk cargo; 1,356 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 5,649 tonnes of DAP, 3,059 tonnes of fertilizer and 54,157 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 33,775 tonnes comprised of 14,159 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,616 tonnes of clinkers and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 2,624 containers comprising of 1,590 containers import and 1,034 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 296 of 20's and 504 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 143 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 384 of 20's and 325 of 40's loaded containers while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There was one ship namely Ever Decent carrying containers sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. Kota Karim, Ningbo Express, Irenes Reliance and Ever Progress carrying containers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 153,521 tonnes comprising 141,285 tonnes of import cargo and 12,236 tonnes of export cargo including 1,433 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 141,285 tonnes includes 32,982 tonnes of LNG; 63,999 tonnes of coal; 19,660 tonnes of palm oil; 3,501 tonnes of soyabean; 3,522 tonnes of chemical; 2,630 tonnes of general cargo and 14,991 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 12,236 tonnes includes 12,236 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,433 containers comprising of 789 containers import and 644 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There was one ship namely Star Planet carrying soyabean sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while five more ships namely MSC Esthi, IVS Naruo, CP Chong Qing, Cela Nova and Theresa Success carrying containers, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, coal, soyabean, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as eleven vessels viz. APL New York, Spring Melody, IVS Wentworth, Bulk Costa Rica, CP Shen Zhen, BBG Integrity, Navig-8 Spica, Tiger Harmony, Epic Sicily, Altesse and Golden Brilliant carrying containers, coal, canola seeds, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six ships viz. APL New York, Maersk Hartford, Spring Melody, BBG Integrity, Navig-8 Spica and Golden Brilliant carrying containers, coal, canola seeds, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Grains and Furtilizer Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There were two ships namely Los Angles Trader and Maersk Hartford carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
