Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday promised the nation that he will continue to raise his voice until the Occupied Kashmir was not free from clutches of Indian occupation. The PM said he has given himself a status of Ambassador of Kashmir. He vowed that he will continue fight the case of Kashmiri people at every forum and will not rest until freedom of Kashmir. He said that the world will always remember those people which were stood against cruel people.
He was addressing an inauguration ceremony of new block at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Swabi. Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood, KP Chief Minister Mahmood, Chief Secretary Saleem Khan, the GIKI Rector, teaching staff, provincial ministers, high-officials and others were also present on the occasion.
The premier stressed that Muslims were second class citizens in the RSS ideology. He said the founder of the country Quaid-e-Azam had understood the ideology of Hindu extremists, adding that had Pakistan not been come into being, we would be facing the same hardships as Muslims in India. He said the incumbent government is paying special attention toward promotion of quality education in the country. He said the health and education is government's top priority and the standard of education should not be compromised. He said that education institutions should not compromise on the standard of education, adding that it becomes difficult to run institutions once the standard is downgraded.
Khan hoped that Pakistan will soon come out of the present difficult situation. He said that Pakistani currency is being devalued due to current accounts deficit. However, he said the deficit will overcome by promotion of tourism sector in the country. Khan said that Pakistan will soon overcome the challenges. He went on saying that the history remembers those who worked for the welfare of the humanity.
The PM said the opposition is seeking NRO through pressure tactics, but he said giving them NRO was tantamount to compromising on his vision. "The day I give them the NRO, I will comprise on my vision. You compromise for your vision, not compromise it," he said. The prime minister added that it would take time to build up institutions which had been destroyed by corruption in Pakistan.
"As we move forward, things will leapfrog as he has human capital and there is no shortage of resources in Pakistan." He said the corruption is destroying institutions in the country. If we can put the institutions on right direction, Pakistan will get progress rapidly. He said Pakistan is blessed with diverse national resources, including mine and minerals, oil and gas, which need to be exploited properly to pull the country out of current quagmire economic conditions.
Earlier, the Prime minister inaugurated the new academic block at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, completed with a cost of Rs 1.09 billion. Covering an area of 162,000 square feet, the project has been completed in two years.
