The Karachi Port handled 144,890 tonnes of cargo comprising 77,432 tonnes of import cargo and 67,458 tonnes of export cargo including 8,372 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargos of 77,432 tonnes comprised of 58,435 tonnes of containerised cargo; 8,562 tonnes of bulk cargo and 10,435 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 67,458 tonnes comprised of 40,976 tonnes of containerised cargo; 24,882 tonnes of bulk cargo and 1,600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 8,372 containers comprising of 4,291 containers import and 4,081 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,263 of 20's and 1,288 of 40's loaded while 202 of 20's and 125 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 822 of 20's and 946 of 40's loaded containers while 433 of 20's and 467 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were three ships namely APL Minnesota, Wieland and Sapsan carrying containers and mogas respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 153,193 tonnes comprising 141,147 tonnes of import cargo and 12,046 tonnes of export cargo including 2,617 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 141,147 tonnes includes 33,644 tonnes of coal; 40,926 tonnes of LNG; 3,300 tonnes of LPG; 11,000 tonnes of diesel oil; 11,500 tonnes of palm oil; 3,100 tonnes of canola and 37,677 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 12,046 tonnes includes 12,046 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,617 containers comprising of 1,983 containers import and 634 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely Federal Tambo carrying coal expected to sail on Wednesday afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola, LPG, LNG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as six vessels viz. MOL Grandeur, Pacific Constant, Anni Selmer, Golar Ice, Magic Wand and NCC Mha carrying containers, coal, rice, LNG, crude oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four ships viz. MOL Grandeur, Pacific Constant, Anni Selmer and Golar Ice carrying containers, coal, rice and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Grains and Furtilizer Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
There were two ships namely As Paola and FB Ayila carrying containers and project cargo respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.
There are three ships namely CMA CGM Titus, Hugo Schulte and MOL Grandeur carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Thursday.
