The Regional Tax Office (RTO) of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has obtained details of more than 17,000 property owners from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), besides the details relating to the housing societies in the city, said sources.
The FBR sources said the sources of income are being inquired about from the property owners. Furthermore, notices are being dispatched to both non-filers and non-registered buyers that how did they procure land without registration with the FBR, they added.
They said the objective of this exercise is to increase tax net. Under this drive, they added, the Board has obtained details about the owners of one Kanal plot or house.
