A local court on Tuesday remanded three suspects into Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) custody for five days for their alleged involvement in making a controversial video of former Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Arshad Malik.
The FIA officials produced the accused Khurrum Yousuf, Nasir Janjua and Ghulam Jilani before Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi for obtaining their physical remand. The agency arrested these suspected after Cyber Crime Court refused to grant them pre-arrest bail on Monday last.
The FIA requested the court to grant five days physical remand of the accused to conduct investigation from them. The FIA prosecutor also told the court that the accused have committed non-bailable offence.
Defence counsel Raja Rizwan Abbasi while objecting to FIA's request said that remand could not be granted on the basis of allegation levelled against Jajua. However, he also said that five days remand of the accused should be granted to FIA in order to complete investigations.
