Former Interior Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Ahsan Iqbal slammed the government for causing harm to the national economy due to is flawed policies. Talking to media after meeting PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah outside ANF court on Saturday, Ahsan blamed the incumbent government for taking heavy loans which are unprecedented in the country's history.
"The country is collapsing economically; industries are being shut down while the people are in a state of misery," he said. He alleged that the incumbent government is working on a "foreign agenda." He criticized the government for not allocating funds for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the budget 2019-20.
Ahsan further said: "The general public has been burdened due to inaptness of the current government." He said the PML-N has made deal only with the public and the Constitution and the country had been progressing.
Answering a question, Ahsan ruled out any possibility of deal saying the constitutional way is to hold fresh elections. Rana Sanaullah told media that the days of current regime are numbered. He alleged that injustices are being made with the opponents and the government which follow the path of injustice cannot continue. Answering a question, Rana said the PML-N is united under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and stands firm with the slogan of "Give respect to the vote."
