The national flag carrier Pakistan International Airline (PIA) is introducing new flight between Sialkot-London-Sialkot from September 11. Sources in Pakistan International Airline told Business Recorders on Sunday that inauguration ceremony of PIA flights from Sialkot to London will be held on September 11 (Wednesday) at Sialkot International Airport.
Initially, the route would be operated once a week from Sialkot to Heathrow airport every Tuesday, whereas the flight from Heathrow to Sialkot would arrive every Wednesday.
The new route will help Pakistan's tourism industry and more people would be likely travelling to Pakistan as most British Pakistanis in Britain belong to areas close to Sialkot.
The new route would provide direct point to point service to Sialkot as well as the shortest route to Kharian, Gujrat, Jhelum and Mirpur Azad Kashmir. It is worth mentioning here that the route would be quite significant for Sikh Yatris who plan to participate in celebrations of "Baba Guru Nanak" birthday. The pilgrims are likely to opt for Sialkot route for starting their holy pilgrimages by visiting Kartarpur Gurdwara.
