ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has restored membership of 1148 parliamentarians and allowed them to function as members of Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies on submission of their statements of assets and liabilities to the commission.
According to an official of ECP Thursday, these parliamentarians have filed their statements of assets and liabilities and fulfilled the legal requirement in conformance with relevant election laws.
Out of total 1,174 members in the Senate, National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies, 1148 parliamentarians have submitted their assets details while the remaining 23 have not fulfilled the requirement so far, he said.
He said parliamentarians who have been allowed to function as parliamentarians included 103 members of Senate, 342 National Assembly, 359 Punjab Assembly, 165 Sindh Assembly, 117 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and 62 Balochistan Assembly.
He said total 23 parliamentarians still failed to submit their details of assets with the commission included one member of Senate, 12 Punjab Assembly, two Sindh Assembly, six Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and two Balochistan Assembly.
