The Karachi Port handled 113,096 tonnes of cargo comprising 81,123 tonnes of import cargo and 31,973 tonnes of export cargo including nil loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargos of 81,123 tonnes comprised of 22,033 tonnes of containerised cargo and 59,090 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 31,973 tonnes comprised of 20,573 tonnes of bulk cargo and 11,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
There were seven ships namely Berlin Express, CARL Schulte, Diyala, Liana, MT Khairpur, Navig-8 Alamster and Southern Dragon carrying containers, oil tanker, mogas and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. Berlin Express, CARL Schulte, Liana, MT Karachi and Oriental Sakura carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 155,140 tonnes comprising 144,937 tonnes of import cargo and 10,203 tonnes of export cargo including 3,263 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 144,937 tonnes includes 64,794 tonnes of coal; 24,713 tonnes of LNG; 2,550 tonnes of LPG; 1,036 tonnes of chemical and 51,794 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 10,203 tonnes includes 10,203 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,263 containers comprising of 2,726 containers import and 537 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely British Listener carrying LNG sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while four ships namely Maersk Santosa, Great Fortune, Red Dragon and MT Al-Salam-II carrying containers, coal, LPG and diesel oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, LNG, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as eleven vessels viz. Seacon-8, Johnny, BTG Kailash, Venture Dulan, Young Glory, Asia Zirconi, Astoria, First Bridge, Clipper Helen, Junoirg and Ginga Hawk carrying steel coil, soyabean, canola, coal, rice, cement, chemical, mogas and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six ships viz. MOL Globe, Seacon-8, Astoria, Young Glory, Clipper Helen and Ginga Hawk carrying containers, steel coil, cement, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely MOL Globe carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday, while two more ships namely Hansa America and APL Antwerp carrying containers are due to arrive on Thursday.
