Three 'militants' arrested: CTD claims thwarting major terror plot in Rajanpur
The Punjab police's Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Friday to have thwarted a major terror plot in Rajanpur by arresting three 'militants' of banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
Identified as Abdul Karim, Aali and Muhammad Khan, the CTD Punjab spokesman claimed that the militants were arrested from the Moza Chak Suri near Rajanpur Goth Mazari Police Station during an intelligence-based operation (IBO).
During the course of interrogation, it emerged that the alleged militants were planning to explode a Sui Gas pipeline, the spokesman said, adding the CTD successfully carried out the operation on the basis of authentic informer's report.
The CTD, he added, also seized 1.3 kilogram of explosive material, electric detonator, remote control devices, batteries and cash from the possession of the alleged terrorists. "Further investigations are being conducted from the terrorists," he concluded.
