Emir Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) Maulana Fazlur Rehman while condemning missile attacks on Saudi oil refineries assured the Kingdom on Wednesday that his party will standby the Saudis in any circumstance.
Addressing a press conference after the central executive committee meeting of the party here, he also condemned arrest of Khursheed Shah by National Accountability Bureau (NAB), saying that NAB is busy arresting opposition politicians only, which is just political victimization and not accountability.
Answering to a question, Maulana said that in 2014 incumbent Prime Minister Imran Khan and his ally Tahirul Qadari staged sit-in against a legal government while JUI-F has been protesting against the illegal government from day one of the 2018 elections.
He announced that his party has planned a decisive long march on Islamabad aimed at ousting the present "fake government" in October, saying a final date will be announced after consultation with other opposition parties. He further said that CEC of his party has decided not to confront any of the state institution but also urged the state institutions to remain neutral and stop supporting incompetent, fake and illegal government emerged only after massive election rigging. He said that his party's upcoming Azadi March will be totally peaceful and no harm will be caused to private or public property.
He said that his party is in close consultation with all the political parties on the subject of Azadi March, for which date of commence will be from October 15 to October 31. In response to another question he said if the government creates hurdles in Azadi March, the JUI-F will block the entire country. Maulana said that all the expenditures of the participants of the Azadi March will be met by the workers of his party for which collection of donations has been started.
When a reporter reminded him the developments and demands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek led 2014 sit-ins and that Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadari in 2014 met then Army Chief to settle the dispute with the government, Maulana said that he is not going to respond to such non-serious queries.
He said that central to provincial to district level monitoring cells have been established to conduct peaceful Azadi March. Moreover committees comprising senior JUI-F leaders have also been formed to consult with the other parties.
Maulana also criticized the government's handling of the Kashmir issue and said the government did not pre-empt the Indian move though it was well aware of the fact that the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party in its election manifesto had announced that it would annex Kashmir.
When asked about the timing of the planned long march at a time when the whole nation is united on the Kashmir issue, he said the rulers have already sold out half of Kashmir and their ouster is a must to save the remaining Kashmir.
The JUI-F chief warned the government against making any effort to disrupt the planned march and expressed the hope that people from all walks of life and from all over the country would reach Islamabad to participate the march to get rid of the present "incompetent and illegitimate government." Maulana lashed out at the rulers for their "failed economic policies" and said the present government had broken all records of obtaining domestic and international loans and the unprecedented price hike has hit every segment of society. "People belonging to all sections of life are in pain due to failed policies of the present rulers. In these circumstances, it is the right of every Pakistani to sack this incompetent government," he declared.
