Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif met former premier Nawaz Sharif in Kot Lakhpat Jail and discussed various political and other matters including proposed Islamabad March, increasing number of dengue cases and Chunian incident.
During the meeting, both discussed the arrest of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) senior leader Syed Khursheed Shah, Shahbaz apprised outcome of his recent meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and the cases against Sharif family, sources said, adding: "Shahbaz asked about well-being of his elder brother and facilities extended to him in jail."
The sources claimed that Nawaz informed the PML-N President that the government will get nothing, if they arrest the entire opposition. Despite sending the politicians in jail and taking control over everything, the government has utterly failed, he added. "The people are in serious trouble due to soaring inflation and the incumbent government has scrapped even those projects which they started," Nawaz said, adding: "The dengue situation is serious and the incumbent government failed on every front." He also expressed concern over Chunian incident.
Shahbaz informed the former PM that he requested Maulana Fazlur Rehman to hold Azadi March in November. However, the sources claimed that Nawaz asked Shahbaz to hold consultation within the party and take decisions with consultation. Nawaz also slammed India over present situation in occupied Kashmir, the sources added.
