The Karachi Port handled 142,191 tonnes of cargo comprising 78,596 tonnes of import cargo and 63,595 tonnes of export cargo including 7,580 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargos of 78,596 tonnes comprised of 58,481 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,854 tonnes of bulk cargo; 3,329 tonnes of DPA; 1,555 tonnes of MAP and 7,377 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 63,595 tonnes comprised of 36,474 tonnes of containerised cargo; 150 tonnes of bulk cargo; 26,971 tonnes of clinkers and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,580 containers comprising of 4,275 containers import and 3,305 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,331 of 20's and 1,384 of 40's loaded while 170 of 20's and 03 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,002 of 20's and 351 of 40's loaded containers while 411 of 20's and 595 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely Clemens Schulte, Xin Yan Tai, Chemroad Quest Chemtrans Arctic and KSL Xin Yang carrying containers, oil tanker, mogas and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. YM Fountain, Greenwich Bridge, Polo, Clemens Schulte, Justice Victiria, Alentejjo, Navig8 Alabaster and Hinode Maru carrying containers, oil tanker, fertilizer, chemical and clinkers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 102,347 tonnes comprising 97,122 tonnes of import cargo and 5,225 tonnes of export cargo including 2,325 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 97,122 tonnes includes 18,500 tonnes of coal; 5,700 tonnes of soyabean; 12,077 tonnes of palm oil; 11,915 tonnes of diesel oil; 9,980 tonnes of chemical and 38,950 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 5,225 tonnes includes 5,225 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,325 containers comprising of 2,050 containers import and 275 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There are five ships namely Maersk Kinloss, Nautical Jennifer, Tai Health, Johnny-P and Wavasan Ruby carrying containers, coal, soyabean and chemical respectively expected to sail on Wednesday afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean, coal, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as eight vessels viz. Aliki Force, W-Star, Am Ocean Pride, Alam Muttara, Red Fin, Star Mistral, Central Park and Maran Gas Coronis carrying steel coil, soyabean, coal, chemical and LNG respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were seven ships viz. Los Angles Trader, Aliki Force, W. Star, Am Ocean Pride, Alam Muttara, Central Park and Maran Gas Coronis carrying containers, steel coil, coal, soyabean, chemical and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Grains and Furtilizer Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Wednesday. There was one ship namely Los Angles Trader carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday, while three ships namely Nordmed, Hugo Schulte and MOL Courase carrying containers are due to arrive on Thursday.
