Despite chances of scattered rain-thunderstorm, weather in the city is likely to remain hot and humid in the next 24 hours, the Met Office said on Thursday.
It said the city may see a hot weather with a temperature up to 39 degrees Celsius on Friday and humidity about 80 percent. "Weak seasonal low lies over North Balochistan. Monsoon currents are penetrating northeastern and southeastern parts of the country," it added.
In the next 24 hours: Isolated rain-wind-thunderstorm is expected in Muzaffarabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur and Islamabad. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
In the last 24 hours: Weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However rain/wind-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Makran, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Karachi, Islamabad districts and Kashmir.
Maximum rainfall was recorded in Saidpur 47 mm, Surjani Town 36 mm, Landhi 12 mm, Shaheed Benazirabad 9 mm and Gulshan-e-Hadeed 7 mm. Lasbella was the hottest place in the country with 42 degrees Celsius, Sibbi, Turbat and Dalbandin 41, each.
