Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman said that awareness about thalassemia is essential to protect human lives from this dangerous disease. He said that Sindh Assembly approved a law regarding thalassemia in 2013 which should be implemented in letter and sprit. The pre-marriage thalassemia test for the couple can also save next generation from this deadly ailment.
He said this after inaugurating the red bus on the visit of Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF). Founder and CEO Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF) Dr Asim Qudvai was also present on this occasion. The Metropolitan Commissioner inspected the facilities in the AMTF.
