Sri Lankan head cricket coach on Sunday said that this limited over series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will not only encourage their senior players but rest of the other countries to revisit their decisions about Pakistan. Speaking at a presser ahead of second ODI between two sides at National Stadium Karachi (NSK), he said that we cannot force our senior players and we respect their decisions but this tour which he termed as precursor for senior players, who pulled them out from this ongoing limited over series, to revisit their decision for upcoming two-Test match series in Pakistan to be played in December.
"This series is a huge thing not only for Pakistan and Sri Lanka but for rest of the other countries". Moreover, he said that although Sri Lankan side only had a day training session outside due to rain, the preparation is goods as all of them are professional players and hoped that things would be turned positive for his team in coming matches.
Rumesh said that it is a challenge for Islanders to beat Pakistan on their home grounds as we have no giants in our team but condition is quiet similar like World Cup 2019 where we were considered underdog and beat England. Furthermore, he said that they have few guys who still to prove themselves and there is a chance for them to do well and take a position in the national side. "Anybody can play like a top player".
Moreover, he said that security arrangements were prodigious and they were attended well in Pakistan and hoped that this series would be ended on a happier note that would enable him to give positive remarks to the board for upcoming series. Meanwhile, Shadab Khan, a star spinner of Pakistan Cricket Team appeared optimistic about his performance, saying that pitch always helped spinners in Karachi and he would get this advantage in coming matches. Furthermore, he said that he was striving to cement a place in Test side and he was also working on his batting skills to make him recognized as quality all-rounder.
