The Karachi Port handled 215,946 tonnes of cargo comprising 131,060 tonnes of import cargo and 84,886 tonnes of export cargo including 3,086 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The total import cargos of 131,060 tonnes comprised of 55,555 tonnes of containerised cargo; 548 tonnes of bulk cargo; 22,424 tonnes of DPA; 514 tonnes of MAP and 52,019 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 84,886 tonnes comprised of 30,064 tonnes of containerised cargo; 20 tonnes of DAP; 42,702 tonnes of clinkers and 12,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 3,086 containers comprising of 1,205 containers import and 1,881 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 179 of 20's and 349 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 164 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 421 of 20's and 415 of 40's loaded containers while 202 of 20's and 214 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were ten ships namely Nordmed, Hyundai Shanghai, MT Quetta, Al Safa, Dong Ting Hu, Navig8 Aragonite, Hinode Maru, Le Hi, River King-B1 and King-T1 carrying containers, oil tanker, mogas, chemical, clinkers anf general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were nine vessels viz. Ever Decent, Northern Discovery, Cape Male, Hyundai Shanghai, Luctor, CT Fronter, Oriental Sakura, Navig8 Aragonite and Clipper Endeavour carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical and fertilizer respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 130,465 tonnes comprising 56,897 tonnes of import cargo and 73,568 tonnes of export cargo including 4,278 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 56,897 tonnes includes 21,394 tonnes of coal; 10,000 tonnes of soyabean; 8,518 tonnes of palm oil; 7,000 tonnes of diesel oil; 2,271 tonnes of chemical and 7,714 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 73,568 tonnes includes 73,568 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,278 containers comprising of 406 containers import and 3,872 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were three ships namely Maersk Jalan, Red Fin and Sea Elegant carrying containers, coal and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean, coal, chemical and diesel oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as six vessels viz. CPO Hamburg, Ranger, Sakizaya Hero, St Sofia, Great Praise and Tomson Gas carrying containers, soyabean, canola, coal and LPG respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were two ships viz. CPO Hamburg and Tomson Gas carrying containers and LPG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Monday.
There are two ships namely APL Savannah and Maersk Selector carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ships namely MOL Grandour carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
