Malaysian Consul General Khair-ul-Nazran Abd Rahman has assured to take special endeavour for supplying palm byproducts at very reasonable prices so as to make it accessible to the general consumers. The Consul General was speaking at the annual reception of Pakistan Soap Manufacturers Association (PSMA). Regional Manager Malaysian Palm Oil Board Johri Minal was also present on the occasion,
Appreciating the Association, Khair-ul-Nazran Abd Rahman said there are good relationships with all traders of Pakistan, especially importers of ghee, oil and soap industry and assured that efforts would be made to improve it. We will endeavour to supply palm byproducts at very reasonable prices so that it is accessible to the general consumers, he said. There would be fruitful talks between the ministers of the two countries so that the businessmen and the people of both Islamic countries would be benefited from it, he added.
The Consul General reiterated that genuine problems of soap industry would be resolved in a good manner. All the obstacles obstructed will soon be removed so that the soap industry can get on the path of development.
Speaking on the occasion, outgoing chairman Usman Ahmad said Malaysia is a country from where raw materials of soap making are imported. He also highlighted the issues facing by the soap industry and presented manufacturing data of washing soap, toilet soap, detergent powder, value additions and revenue figures which government gets from the soap industry.
He said that most of the raw materials for soap industry are imported from Malaysia. The trade balance is in favour of Malaysia therefore it should give maximum benefits to the local soap industry. He also stressed the need for removing hardships in issuance of visa.
