Twitter might introduce a Snapchat-like camera
Joining other social media networks, Twitter too might introduce a new Snapchat-like camera for its platform.
Recently an app researcher Jane Manchun Wong discovered a code about the micro-blogging site Twitter’s new ‘News Camera’ that will allow Snapchat-styled captions to photos, videos and live broadcasts before sharing them to the timeline.

The camera could be accessed by swiping left from Twitter’s home screen and as per the tweet, the posts created by News Camera will be dubbed ‘Moments’, reported CNET.

Moreover, the feature’s prototypes were first spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra earlier this month along a video demonstrating how the camera works. After shooting some media from the camera, overlays appear prompting user to add a location and caption to describe what’s happening. There are also colored backgrounds to choose from for the caption and location overlay card.

A Twitter spokesperson told Tech Crunch, “I can confirm that we’re working on an easier way to share thing like images and videos on Twitter. What you’re seeing is in mid-development so it’s tough to comment on what things will look like in the final stage. The team is still actively working on what we’ll actually end up shipping.” When asked when it would launch, the spokesperson said, “Unfortunately we don’t have a timeline right now. You could expect the first half of this year.”
