PSL sensation Haris can break Shoaib Akhtar’s record, says Aqib

Lahore Qalandars coach Aqib Javed believes that youngster Haris Rauf can break pace record of legendary pace machine Shoaib Akhtar.

“Haris has the talent to go places,” said Aqib. “I am very confident that he can break Shoaib Akhtar’s record of fastest bowling. He has the potential and the ability to become one of the fastest bowlers in the world.,” quoted PSL-T20.

Lahore Qalandars fast bowler Haris Rauf announced his arrival in the HBL PSL game last night against Karachi Kings with figures of four for 23 in four overs.

The speedster destroyed Karachi Kings to help Lahore defend a modest 139-run target, which earned him his first Man of the Match award on PSL debut.

“It’s a reward for hard work I put in, the coaching staff headed by Aqib Javed and the owners of Lahore team had done,” said Haris. “I love to bowl fast, in fact my goal is to bowl the fastest delivery in the PSL and, God willing, if I do well play the World Cup for Pakistan.”

The youngster reflected on his modest beginnings working as a salesman in a shop, the fast bowlr reveled about his days of playing tape ball cricket. “I had never thought that I would play for Lahore one day and all credit goes to Lahore Qalandars for tapping my talent,” said Haris.
