LONDON: Sterling rose into positive territory on Wednesday against the euro and the dollar after Spain's foreign minister was quoted by Bloomberg saying that a revised Brexit accord was being "hammered out".
Sterling jumped as much as 0.3 percent against the dollar on the comments and hit the day's high of $1.3078. It had been trading close to $1.3025.
Against the euro, the pound also turned positive, trading flat at 86.79 pence.
