Federal government directs AJK government to resolve Kohala Project disputes
MUZAFFARABAD: Federal government directed the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to resolve promptly the disputes emerged on Kohala Project as it would be the grand hydral power project which has been launched under CPEC to be constructed with the coordination of private power company.
These directives were issued while a 122nd PPIB board meeting was held under the chair of Federal Minister for Power Division Omar Ayub Khan here on Saturday. The meeting approved one year extension letter of support to complete the financial affairs regarding the 1124 MW hydal power project.
The meeting also approved the small hydal power generation projects in all the four provinces besides, Gilgat Baltistan (GB) and AJK of equal standard those which they have sent earlier to PPIB for further study and assessment.
The meeting observed that letters had already been issued to all stakeholders in this regard whereas, the financial process would be completed through the trilateral letter of support under the 2015 power policy.
The board issued directives to NTDC and CPPAG to devise a proper planning for electricity distribution and transmission system, and making possibility of cheap provision of electricity to consumers from these power generation projects.
