John Abraham’s positive opinion about Pakistan puts him among few sane voices of B-Town
Where majority of Indian celebrities are trying to escalate the tensions between Pakistan and India by spreading unwanted hatred among the people, Bollywood actor John Abraham has spoken in favor of Pakistan.
Speaking during the trailer launch of his upcoming movie ‘RAW- Romeo Akbar Walter’, the actor said that Indians are stereotyping people of Pakistan. He added that there has to be a war against terror, not against a country or religion.
“There has to be a war against terror, not against a country, religion, religions or between religions. I am very clear in my outlook. I (will) probably get picked on, but I am not going to sit on the fence and say 'this audience will like it, that won't,’” John said.
“There has to be a war on terror. It has to be over and done with. That doesn't mean you have to fight with another country. That doesn't mean you have to stereotype people. But today the problem is that the world is getting polarized. We are stereotyping people, that's probably the most dangerous sign. It shouldn't happen,” he added.
He also said that actors who aren’t aware about politics shouldn’t be commenting on the current situation. “You shouldn’t be stupidly talented. You can’t be an idiot, who knows nothing about which country lies where. If you don’t know what’s happening from Bihar to Syria, then you should shut up and smile and show your mug that you have done so much work on. Don’t talk,” he said.
In his upcoming film, John plays a Raw agent who is sent to Pakistan, undercover. The film also stars Mouni Roy, Jackie Shroff and Sikander Kher in pivotal roles. Slated to release on April 5, 2019.
