Federal Govt determined to eradicate electricity theft, end load shedding
HARIPUR: Federal Minister for Water and Power Omer Ayub Khan on Tuesday said that the government was determined to eradicating electricity theft and end load-shedding in line with directives of the Prime Minister.
He was addressing a public gathering after inauguration of Sui Gas provision projects at Shadi, Hattar and Kamalpur. The minister said that PTI government was committed to serving the masses, adding during short time the federal government has overcome many challenges.
Economic indicators were improving and foreign investors had shown their confidence by investing billions of dollars in Pakistan, he added. The minister stated that "we would resolve the electricity issues for next 50 years in district Haripur and would also provide Sui gas to the Khanpur, Dartian and Doorpar areas."
He said that Wapda was working on 10 new feeders in Haripur city. During next week Khanpur grid station worth Rs 500 million would also be inaugurated, he added.
He said" We have also got approval of 220 volt Hattar grid station which would be constructed at a cost of Rs 8.5 billion. These projects would resolve the electricity problems of district Haripur for next 50 years, Omer Ayub Khan said.
The former MNA and MPA of Haripur did not work for the upgradation of the only hospital of the district, he said and added the present PTI Government in the KP approved the upgradation of the district headquarters hospital Haripur into grade A and a medical college in Haripur city.
