Breaking down the first official trailer of ‘Game of Thrones’ final season
After a long wait, ‘Game of Thrones’ fans finally got the final trailer of the series and it was totally worth the wait. From the trailer, it’s clear that every character is gearing up for the fight of their lives.
The trailer begins with Arya Stark breathing heavily, her face is bloodied, she takes a long run through a Winterfell corridor as something is chasing her while she’s got her Valyrian steel dagger in her hand. If there is something that has scared Arya to such an extent, everyone should be very worried. As far as we know Arya, she is easily scared of human, so this only means that maybe a White Walker is probably chasing her down, which we will have to wait and see.
Meanwhile, Euron seems to be returning from his Essos mission on which Cersei had sent him. He was going to hire the Golden Company, a legendary army of mercenaries, to fight on Queen Cersei's behalf. A new character named Harry Strickland can be seen standing in front of his sellsword troops. Strickland is the general who leads the Golden Company.
Next we see Beric and Tormund, who have thank God made it out of season 7 alive. They are seen skulking around in the dark with someone seems like Dolorous Edd, the current Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.
We also get to see Queen Daenerys Targaryen and King Jon Snow riding towards Winterfell. Dany's dragons soar over the towers of Winterfell as Sansa watches in awe as this first time she has seen a living dragon.
First real shot of the action in this trailer reveals Jaime Lannister, who left Cersei behind at the end of season seven, has made his way to the action.
Briefly back to the Battle for Winterfell, as Grey Worm dons his helmet. But interestingly, it’s Jaime we hear from over this “I promised to fight for the living,” he tells someone unseen (presumably the Starks or Dany whenever he arrives at Winterfell). “I intend to keep that promise.”
Jon steels himself to face the ultimate fight of his life, as the Battle for Winterfell truly begins. Then we see Dany and Jon approaching her two remaining dragons. Fans have long speculated that Jon will ride a dragon at some point on the final episodes of Game of Thrones.
Last we see everyone standing armed to fight the undead as we see the rotting leg of an undead horse walking towards Winterfell. We surely tell that the Night King has reached Winterfell and is ready to takeover. Now that the trailer has officially been released, our watch has begun for the first episode of the epic final season, which will be on aired on April 14.
