ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister, Asad Umar said Tuesday that Pakistan strongly believed in promoting regional economic integration for development of the whole region.
Talking to a Turkmenistan delegation, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr.Rashid Meredov, the Finance Minister said that it was the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan to develop regional economic integration, which he said was highly essential for the social and economic prosperity of the region.
The minister briefed the delegation about the economic priorities of the government, which he said were geared towards people-centric economic growth and provision of social services to all citizens across the country. He also highlighted the benefits of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), saying that Pakistan would become the hub of economic activities once the project was completed.
He also offered training facilities for the Banks from Turkmenistan. The participants of the meeting also underscored the need for strengthening financial linkages between the two countries as well as enhancing cooperation against money laundering activities.
It was also agreed to take steps for the practical implementation of Turkmenistan–Afghanistan.
