ISLAMABAD: Advisor and Spokesman Ministry of Finance Dr Khaqan Najeeb on Saturday said credible interventions by the government had been producing desired results as the current account deficit (CAD) had dropped considerably.
The advisor, in a tweet, said there had been a massive correction in the external sector imbalances. The CAD had dropped by 59 percent in February to $356 million from $873 million in January 2019.
He said the CAD witnessed reduction of 72% when compared to the deficit of $1218 million in February 2018.
He said the balance of payment was improving as all the economic indicators were positive currently.
