Priyanka Chopra gets called out for ‘double standards’ over Christchurch terror attack
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra paid a heartfelt tribute to the victims of Christchurch terror attack in which more than 50 muslims lost their lives. She posed an emotional video to pay respect to the victims but it didn’t go down well on social media for ‘hypocrisy’ and ‘double standards’.
Priyanka, who is the UNICEF goodwill ambassador, was recently criticized for rooting for war few weeks back when the tensions between India and Pakistan had escalated. PeeCee landed herself in hot waters when an only petition started making rounds seeking her removal as the goodwill ambassador over her promoting war.
Now with her recent stance on attack on Muslims in New Zealand’s mosques, fans are not really convinced with her. To show solidarity with the families of the victims, Priyanka shared a video on her social media, which starts with a 2D animation of a non-Muslim woman hugging a Muslim, hijab-clad woman which is followed by the words, “The world is with you” along with a Kiwi bird and the map of New Zealand.

Along with many others, Pakistani artiste Ali Gul Pir also questioned her 'hypocrisy' while some slammed her for choosing and picking which violence she wants condemn and which she wants to encourge . “Remember when you were rooting for war a few weeks back?” Ali Gul Pir wrote.
Remember when you were rooting for war a few weeks back?

Hello hypocrite.

It is hypocritical for you to pick and choose which violence you condemn and which violence you encourage. If you stand against violence, let it be across the board. That would be the human thing to do.

What I can’t understand is why is your love and prayers only restricted to some specific countries, like Paris, New York, New Zealand, etc. daily 100s of people die in Afghanistan! 100s of lives an families!!! Where is your prayers and concern then??? #Disappointed@priyankachopra
