LONDON: European stock markets opened lower on Wednesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.3 percent at 7,303.99 points as Brexit uncertainty persisted ahead of a US interest rate decision.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index shed 0.7 percent to 11,704.44 points and the Paris CAC 40 dipped 0.2 percent at 5,417.21 compared with Tuesday's close.
