LONDON: The British pound fell on Wednesday after Prime Minister Theresa May asked EU leaders to delay Brexit until June 30, sparking greater uncertainty over the nation's departure from the bloc.
At around 1300 GMT, sterling lost nearly one percent of its value on the day, sliding to $1.3149, while the euro rose to 86.40 pence.
