ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and European Union have agreed on a strategic partnership to deepen cooperation in the areas including trade and investment, sustainable development and energy sector.
This was agreed in the Strategic Dialogue between Pakistan and European Union at Foreign Office in which Pakistan’s delegation was led by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and the EU by High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.
According to Foreign Office, the two sides expressed satisfaction over the current status of bilateral relations between Pakistan and the EU. The EU also gave an indication to cooperate with Pakistan in eradication of poverty as well as in extending a helping hand to support the government in areas such as health, education, trade, environment and counterterrorism.
Foreign Minister Qureshi also appraised the EU delegation on the situation in the wake of Pulwama incident and the ongoing worst human right situation in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
