LARKANA: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Tuesday offered Sindh government’s cooperation to the federal government for establishing better hospitals in Cholistan to Gujar Khan and FATA to Peshawar as saying they had made best hospitals like NICVD from Karachi to Sukkur to Mithi where free medical treatment is provided.
He said he would request Sindh Chief Minister to write a letter in this connection to his counterparts in other provinces offering them services of establishing cardiac hospitals.
He was talking to media persons after inaugurating new Cardiac Complex of NICVD building in Chandka Medical College Hospital here today.
He said annually 25000 cardiac patients expired in Pakistan. Bilawal claimed that development made in the health sector in Sindh was unmatched in other provinces for which he also congratulated Sindh government.
He said after 18th amendment, they had done a tremendous job in health sector but those who wanted one unit say that ‘we have no such capacity’, he added.
NICVD has proved itself a world class institution by providing free treatment services to the ailing masses which is an achievement for Pakistan as it is the largest hospital of heart diseases in South Asia.” He said it was the habit of other parties to focus on single city but we had established NICVD at all major cities in Sindh where patients from Punjab, KPK, Balochistan and Afghanistan were coming to get treatment.
He said new cardiac complex had been established consisting of 60 beds here. Dr Nadim Qamar, Executive Director, NICVD, said that satellite center was established here on May 13, 2017 during which 76670 patients had been provided health facilities.
He said in Tando Muhammad Khan Center 191845 patients, in Hyderabad Center 43782, in Sehwan Center 28918, in Sukkur 194362, in Nawabshah 57732, in Mithi 26935 and in Khairpur Center 47999 patients have been provided health facilities so far.
