Pakistani veteran actors and sisters Bushra Ansari and Asma Abbas have produced her very own peace anthem to reduce the tensions between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan. The song has gone viral and their efforts to promote peace have been praised across the border.

The song ‘Humsaaye Maa Jaaye’ features the two actors as neighbours separated by a stone wall; with Asma playing a Pakistani woman while Bushra is an Indian. It shows that the common man wants peace, but politics and war-mongers create distances between them.

Social media reacted positively to the video, as the song went viral. Indians took to Twitter to praise Pakistani actors’ effort to promote peace between two rival nations.

Along with India, many Pakistani celebrities also showered their love to them.

Talking to a local online publication, Bushra Ansari said, “We didn’t expect this video to become a rage so quickly”. She further added, “My eldest sister, Neelum Ahmed Bashir, who is a well-known writer, has written the lyrics of the song. My younger sister, Asma Abbas and I have performed in the video. All of us expected this to be liked by people but not in the way it has become a rage. In fact, I’m now wondering what have we done! My phone hasn't stopped ringing since this we released the song”.
