KARACHI: Sindh Rangers and police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested 10 suspects, including a political party target killer and extortionist, during raids in different parts of the metropolis.
According to rangers’ spokesman, that the paramilitary soldiers carried out a targeted raid in Kalakot area and apprehended a suspected extortionist, Rozi Rehman. The arrested accused was stated to be involved in several extortion cases.
During crackdown against street criminals in Saeedabad, Clifton and Lyari areas the rangers detained eight suspects.
Citing their crimes the rangers’ official said that the arrested suspects allegedly involved in street crime and drug peddling.
Rangers claimed that weapons, drugs and looted goods were also recovered from the possession of detainees.
Police conducted a raid in Ibrahim Hyderi area and arrested a target killer of Muttahida Quami Movement-London (MQM-L) involved in the killing several individuals across the city including police officials.
According to SSP Malir, the accused Farhan alias Furqan affiliated with banned MQM-London group.
“Farhan carried out targeted killing for the group headed by under-arrest offender Shahnawaz alias Shahrukh. He was involved in a murder of a police official Zahid at Ajmer Nagri in 2010”, SSP Malir added.
Police also recovered Illegal weapons and bullets from the suspect.
