CM launches Insaf Rozgar scheme to provide interest free loan upto Rs1mn loan to tribal youth
MOHMAND: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has formally inaugurated the Insaf Rozgar Scheme in merged tribal District Mohmand under which interest free loans up to Rs 10 Lakh will be provided to local residents to help eradicate unemployment and poverty in the terrorism affected areas of the newly merged tribal districts.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Sehat Insaf Card Scheme in merged district Mohmand under which 115,000 health cards will be distributed among citizens of District Mohmand.
The health cards will cover treatment of cancer, cardiac and all diseases.
The Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was in Mohmand District in connection with cabinet meeting during which he also inaugurated Insaf Rozgar Scheme, Inaugurated the Sehat Insaf Scheme and also took part in the Spring Sports and Culture festival.
The Chief Minister, on this occasion, also visited Gandao Small Dam where he was briefed on the work progress and its expected date of completion.
According to details, under the Rozgar scheme, skilled and degree holding unemployed people in the age group of 18 to 50 years would get interest free loans from 50,000 to Rs 1 million.
Technical people would get from Rs50,000 to Rs0.5 million whereas others would get Rs50000 to Rs0.3 million for initiating their businesses.
During his visit, the Chief Minister also participated in the Spring sports and culture festival where students and youth presented various national songs, traditional folk music and dance along with different sports and acrobatic events.
While addressing the participants of the festival, Chief Minister Mehmood Khan stated that people in erstwhile FATA have suffered greatly due to terrorism and insurgency for the past 15 years and have also been exploited for the past 70 years due to non-availability of proper laws.
Mahmood Khan added that due to the merger of erstwhile FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and successful military operations against terrorists, peace has been restored and now the government and all stakeholders are focused towards speedy development in these areas.
The Chief Minister stated that with the Rozgar Scheme, all businesses and livelihood opportunities that were destroyed during the period of insurgency will be restored along with providing the locals with new avenues for development.
While addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stated that the government will make all out efforts to resolve the clean drinking water issue in District Mohmand.
The Chief Minister also stated that efforts will be made for providing all job opportunities, rising out in the Mohmand Dam, to local citizens.
Additionally, the Chief Minister also announced that sincere efforts are being made for development in newly merged District Mohmand including initiation of 3G and 4G internet services, solarization of all Mosques, provision of clean drinking water and establishment of University Campus for providing students with Higher Education opportunities.
During his visit, the Chief Minister was also briefed on the work progress on Gandao Small Dam.
The Chief Minister was informed that the Dam is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 449 Million which will directly benefit 22,000 local population.
The storage capacity of the small dam is 810 Acre Ft with a total length of 250 Ft and Height of 105 Ft.
The Chief Minister was informed that the construction work on the dam was initiated in January 2013.
However, due to terrorism related incidents, the construction work was stopped and now after a period of many years, the construction work was resumed again in January 2018.
72% of the work on the dam has been completed and the completion date of the Dam is expected to be in June 2019.
