KARACHI: Four policemen were arrested on Wednesday after a minor boy was killed during alleged shootout between suspects and police at Karachi's University Road near Safoora Chowrangi on Tuesday evening.
According to the police, the case has been registered on the complaint of the child’s father Kashif on the charges of attempted and unintentional murder.
The 19-month-old boy, Ahsan was traveling along with his parents in a rickshaw when a bullet hit him near Safoora roundabout, the FIR stated.
According to Additional Police Surgeon Dr Shiraz, the minor was shot from a distance of 10-15 feet. The surgeon determined that the cause of the death was a bullet to the chest.
Taking notice of the incident, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah sought a detailed report of the incident, while talking to media Adviser to the chief minister on law and information Murtaza Wahab, said that an investigation into the incident should not be carried out by police as they had been accused in the case.
