KARACHI: The Controller of Examinations, University of Karachi, Dr Irfan Aziz, on Tuesday announced the results of MA (Regular) Islamic Studies, Political Science, Islamic History and Urdu, Annual Examination 2017.

As per gazette issued, 27 candidates were registered in the MA Islamic Studies (Previous) Regular, Annual Examination 2017 of which 25 students appeared and 13 candidates declared passed while 12 students failed to clear their papers. The overall pass percentage was 52 percent.

Meanwhile, 27 candidates were appeared in the MA Islamic Studies (Final) Regular, Annual Examination 2017 of which 26 students appeared and 12 candidates cleared their papers with first division and seven students with second division. The overall pass percentage was 73.08 percent.

Anum daughter of Muhammad Shafaqat, bearing seat number 28504 and student of Abdullah Government College for Women clinched overall first position in MA Islamic Studies (Final) Regular, Annual Examination 2017 by obtaining 723 marks out of total 1000 marks.

Rukhsar Batool d/o Najaf Ali, seat number 28513 from Abdullah Government College for Women secured second position with 712 marks whereas another student of Abdullah Government College for Women, Maryam Ameer d/o Muhammad Ameer, seat number 28512 stood third with 687 marks.

The gazette shows that 21 candidates were registered and all of them appeared in the MA Political Science (Previous) Regular, Annual Examination 2017 of which 19 students were declared pass while two candidates failed to clear their papers. The overall pass percentage was 90.48 percent.

On the other hand, 16 candidates were registered and all of them appeared in the MA Political Science (Final) Regular, Annual Examination 2017 of which six candidates cleared their exams with first division and eight students with second division. The overall pass percentage was 87.50 percent.

Shabana Badar daughter of Malik Yar Badar, bearing seat number 28541 and student of Abdullah Government College for Women clinched overall first position in MA Political Science (Final) Regular, Annual Examination 2017 by getting 643 marks out of total 1000 marks.

Shazia Shabbir d/o Shabbir Ahmed, seat number 28539 from Abdullah Government College for Women bagged second position with 635 marks whereas another student of Abdullah Government College for Women, Noreen Khan d/o Muhammad Zada, seat number 28535 received third with 622 marks.

The gazette also shows that two candidates were registered and appeared in the MA Islamic History (Final) Regular, Annual Examination 2017 and none of them cleared their exams while only one student was registered and appeared in the MA Urdu (Final) Regular, Annual Examination 2017 and cleared it with second division.
