PML-Q stands behind Punjab govt: Pervaiz Elahi

LAHORE: Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Wednesday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) being an ally, was standing behind the government and would strengthen hands of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Talking to the media after inaugurating a painting exhibition at a local hotel, he said that differences in  political parties were beauty of a democratic system. The PML-Q would continue its support for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government following the direction of party chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

Reshuffle in the cabinet was prerogative of the Prime Minister and he can take any decision over it, he remarked.To a question, the Speaker clarified that neither meeting of any PML-Q leader was held with the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) nor there was need to do so.

To another query regarding formation of new provinces, he said the PML-Q supported the stance of its leader Tariq Bashir Cheema regarding Bahawalpur province.

Earlier, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi lauded the efforts of organizers of the painting exhibition and stressed the need  for making more efforts for the promotion of art.
