SHC orders NAB to file reference against former minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar
KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file assets beyond mean sources reference against former provincial law minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar within three weeks.
A two-member bench of the SHC heard the bail plea filed by former minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar in a case pertaining to assets beyond mean sources. NAB’s counsel informed the court that inquiry against Lanjar had been completed and the reference was sent to chairman NAB for his approval.
The court ordered the NAB to file reference against former minister within three weeks and adjourned the hearing till 21 May. On last hearing of the case, the Investigation Officer (IO) of National Accountability Bureau has informed the court that investigation against Lanjar was underway and had sought time of 4 weeks for the report into the scam.
According to the NAB, they had traced Lanjar’s bungalow in Karachi’s Defence area worth Rs 90 million which was not mentioned in his asset declaration form.
