SHC orders police to recover remaining 16 children
KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday directing the Sindh Police to recover remaining 16 children of Karachi, also sought a progress report from it pertaining to the recovery of remaining missing children by the 29th May.
A bench of SHC, headed by Justice Naimtullah Phulputo, heard the pleas seeking the recovery of these missing children.
The police produced a recovered girl, Sania Munawar, who had been missing for four months, before the court.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Central Investigation Agency (CIA), Arif Hanif, informed the court that girl was working as a housemaid, but she left home due to torture by house owner. ‘’A man namely, Haris Aftab, took her away to Shiekhupura,’’ he stated.
He said that as the news aired about the disappearance of girl, Aftab handed the girl to her relatives in Shiekhupura. ‘’We will chalan those who tortured the girl and who took her away,’’ DIG assured the court.
At this the bench remarked that this artificial story of Police is not reliable. However, the bench said at least one girl has been recovered by the police on court orders.
The bench ordered the police to recover remaining 16 missing children by using modern technological devices.
The hearing has been adjourned till the 29th May.
However, the parents of recovered girl, Sania Munawar, thanked the court for the recovery of their daughter.
