KARACHI: The leadership of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) have welcomed the orders issued by Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Syed Shabbar Zaidi to restrain tax officials from harassing taxpayers.
In their joint statement issued on Monday, Patron-in-Chief of KATI, S.M. Muneer, its President Danish Khan and other senior leaders of the association showed their confidence that new FBR Chairman would transform the tax collection system more business friendly.
S.M. Muneer recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan had already offered incentive to honor top taxpayers of the country and reinforced the narrative of business community that taxpayers of this country were the real VIPs.
He said that Chairman FBR's initial directions reflected the continuation of this vision and business community welcomed it.
He further said that more the tax system of the country would give respect to the taxpayers, more tax collection would be.
President KATI, Danish Khan said that by restraining revenue officers from harassing taxpayers was the first step in the right direction.
"We are happy that the newly appointed FBR Chairman took the bold stand just after stepping in the office," he said.
