LONDON: Sterling fell a quarter of a percent to a four-month low on Wednesday as political uncertainty deepened after Prime Minister Theresa May's last-ditch plan to get her Brexit deal through parliament was opposed by lawmakers.
The pound fell 0.3 percent to $1.2666, its lowest level since mid-January.
Against the euro, it weakened 0.2 percent to 88.04 pence.
