ISLAMABAD: The culture of arranging iftar get together for relatives, friends and colleagues at both at homes and restaurants is on rise across the country specially among youngsters as the holy month of Ramazan enters in last Ashra.

Organizing ‘Iftar Party’ is a popular trend , usually, special programs on the occasion of the holy Ramazan and Iftar Party and a prayer congregation were organized by several groups or individuals as well.

Over the last few years, this new trend have become a great arena of get-together among Doctors, politicians, bureaucrats, lawyers, and people from almost all walks of life turn Iftar parties into an opportunity to interact with people belonging to cross sections of the society.

According to a family , Ramazan is the month of fasting, yes, but it’s also the month of giving, adding, our hearts and hands open widely, we love to invite people over because the reward to feed a fasting person is tremendous.

Having the family together for Iftar means being able to enjoy the presence of those around you, while nourishing yourself with food prepared with love and care, Humma Ismail said.

We have received a couple of invitations for Iftar from his friends and relatives but in last Ashra we proffered to get together with our friends outdoor, said Daniyal Javed. It is a good tradition as it brings people closer and the hosts earn benevolence of Allah Almighty, he added.

Waniya Umair with arranging party outdoor also commented , that Ramazan is a month of blessings and sharing time with one and other in the wake of Iftar parties as people do not find any leisure time throughout the year due to their busy schedule.

The people especially students who live away from their family members and native towns, are always keen to attend Iftar parties, Sumbal Sheikh added.

Youngsters and office colleagues are also arranging Iftar parties for their fellow beings living together in the hostels, said Saim Ali. "Our gatherings are big, but simple. What we do is we go from one house to another - at times, we go to my aunt's house, then to my uncle's house, then their families go to our house," Maisha Ahmad a student adds.

A Restaurant owner said, most of the hotel and restaurants become lively with customer after midnight as the trend is getting popular like wildfire. People are seen to be flocked in restaurant and hotel to enjoy the Ramazan meals.

Taking advantage of Ramazan, the bachelors, residing in Islamabad city away from their families and native towns could also be seen holding Iftar parties with their friends and classmates. Besides family gatherings, outdoor Iftar parties are also emerging as a potential business for hotels and restaurants for getting maximum profits during the last Ashra of Ramazan, said a group of boys.

When all foodstuffs were laid on the iftar sheet, all people including children calmly settled down around it to end their fast. Each person passed the foodstuff for others looks good , said Qayyum Hamid a citizen.?Reuters
