New innovative Asus’ dual-screen laptop grabs eyeballs
At the world’s biggest computer hardware event Computex, electronics firm Asus showed off several products including various innovative laptops and monitors. One of the laptops exhibited by the firm features dual screens, making it stand out among the rest.
Asus’ ZenBook Pro Duo is the company’s unique laptop consisting of two 4K screens. There is one 15-inch 16:9 OLED panel normally found on the laptop display, and another 32:9 IPS ‘ScreenPad Plus’ screen just above the keyboard, having the same width, but half the height.
As per The Verge, the design is also different in terms of keyboard and touch pad placement. The trackpad is located directly to the right instead of being underneath the keyboard. This placement also makes the trackpad as the third screen as it allows user to use the trackpad as a number pad too.
Moreover, the second ScreenPad Plus can also be used as a full-on monitor, or can be split into two smaller 16:9 1080p windows. The second screen can also be set to work as an extension of the main screen, so for instance, the websites rise up from above the keyboard as one scrolls down.
The phone features voice command accessibility, supports stylus, accessible to use with Alexa and Cortana, features up to an eight-core Intel Core i9 processor. Asus also announced the ZenBook Duo, a smaller version of the same dual-screen laptop with a 14-inch main screen and a 12.6-inch secondary one, however, the laptop differs a bit in terms of specs.
Asus has not yet announced the pricing and availability for the ZenBook Pro Duo or the ZenBook Duo, but the laptops are expected to arrive in the third quarter of this year, as per Mashable.
